Michael Miller Architects is a full service architectural office located in Key West, Florida. Founded in 1991 by Michael Miller, it offers a broad range of architectural services beginning with the project’s concept and continuing through the completion of its construction. The office adheres to a philosophy that good design is best achieved by recognizing opportunities arising from multiple influences brought to bear on a project: the client’s goals and preferences, natural opportunities posed by the site, laws and municipal guidelines, social and historical considerations, and budget considerations. Michael Miller works closely with his clients in all aspects of the project including design, budgeting, municipal approvals, construction drawings, specifications, the selection of the builder, and construction administration.

Michael works in contemporary as well as classical styles and has twenty years experience working in Key West’s historic district. His contemporary designs are dynamic and fluid, with elegant materials and expressive forms. Working with classical styles, Michael’s experience comes from working in Key West’s historic district, one of the largest in the country. Here, his sense of mass and scale derives from a thorough knowledge of the Keys’ traditional maritime building methods and architectural heritage. Energy conservation is a major consideration, and can include the application of LEED principles and alternative energy sources such as wind turbines and solar panels. His associate, Helen Colley, specializes in color applications and brings twenty- five years of retail design, interior design, and integral art experience to the office.
